Very good food, great service

Wonderful food and a great location. We were lucky with the weather and sat on the terrace with the best view of the Elbe and the harbor. I subtract 1 star, because the 6-course menu unfortunately does not offer any wine accompaniment, with the explanation that it would not be profitable and that the right wines would then have to be served with the menu. The 2nd star, that we unfortunately did not get the middle forks properly cleaned from the "silver" (me 4x) and that was so bitter that it unfortunately spoiled our food and, above all, we could no longer enjoy the dessert. Anything can happen, but the fact that you are not taken seriously as a guest is more than disappointing. Only at dessert did the service manager try a fork with the statement: This is terrible, so bitter, it spoils everything. It's a shame that this didn't happen with the starter. There was a glass of champagne as an excuse. Otherwise, the service was very friendly and good.

Were in the restaurant at 9:30 p.m. There was nothing left to eat, only to drink. The beer was bad and had expired for a long time. Meals only on reservation. Our service was very friendly and courteous. He has made an effort to save the house's reputation. As compensation, there was beer and other things on the house.

It was my birthday at Le Canard and I was able to enjoy a great menu. The service was extremely professional and unobtrusive. However, attention was paid to every little detail. The nice thing about the team at Le Canard is that it is neither typically conservative nor overly hip. The service is modern, warm and completely calm. Anyone who fears that a star restaurant is only for conservative and older people will be surprised. Despite the highest quality cuisine at star level and brilliant presentation of the dishes, the service is young and approachable without forgetting the professionalism. Ad on 1: great wines and precise recommendations even for non-wine experts. Ad on 2: Magnificent view from the terrace over the Elbe and the container port. The prices are very reasonable for the quality of the kitchen and the overall experience of such an evening. Again any time.

We were not eating at Le Canard Nouveau, but I would still advise against a visit: I made in early August 2019 a reservation for my wife's birthday in mid-September on the Canard website, which is processed via OpenTable and there was also set but got no confirmation from the restaurant. After a week, I inquired by mail in what was ignored. After a few days, I then asked a second time, whereupon I got the answer that you have a closed event that day. That may happen, but I think it would be quite good, if you are not left two weeks in the dark (or you wanted to wait until the concocted concrete event, before you cancel me?) And then with some time pressure Must look for alternative. Now, at the end of September, I suddenly get another answer to my then reservation request for a day in mid-September, that you are currently in the company holidays and initially could not answer the mail. Of course it can still be that the kitchen is brilliant and only the service as unprofessional, as I can not imagine even in a snack. But it would be surprising, so I do not risk the price level.
